Iron & Wine - Beast Epic (2 LP, Includes Download) - Music
It comes in a thick gatefold jacket with beautiful artwork front and back, and the cardboard texture almost feels like fabric! The tiny "Sub Pop" logo is even made to look like a fabric tag sewn onto the embroidered-looking cover. So cute. Inside is a beautiful little lyric book, and download card. The coloured vinyl one red disc, one blue comes in clear plastic sleeves and sounds fantastic. One person found this helpful.
Songs are evocative and pretty and the lyrics are clever, mysterious and cutting, sometimes devastating. The opening track sets the stage perfectly. An album I've had to stop listening to so as not to wear it out more so than one I've moved on from. I was never drawn enough to the music to invest time or money into it. Although, this album for one reason or another just does it for me. I absolutely love this album from start to finish, especially on vinyl.
Highly recommended. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. I've been a fan of Iron and Wine Sam Beam for some time. To be honest if I heard any of the tracks being played on the radio I would not have guessed it was Iron and Wine.
Having said that this is a very pleasant album that could bring in a few more fans. Although back to his acoustic roots this album has a band sound with quite few catchy tunes that could get AirPlay. Report abuse. This is a good album, you feel a bit more involved in the music then you did in some of his other music, such as kiss each other clean.
It's a bit more a return to softer music. At times it does drag mainly on the 2nd half but all in all it's a solid effort and a decent addition to anyone's collection. As a long-standing fan I think this is up with his best. See him live if the chance arises. Your recently viewed items and featured recommendations. Back to top. Get to Know Us. Make Money with Us. You will not be disappointed! I listen to music all the time and have definite favorites. Not the case with this album. I listened and as soon as it ended was compelled to listen again Sam is a brilliant lyricist and his delivery is impeccable, as usual. Beautiful soothing music. Absolutely gorgeous deluxe vinyl.
